Getting started with your Hytale server

Hytale is in active development and receives frequent updates, so this guide sticks to the steps that stay the same between versions.

Start the server

  1. Open your server on panel.ngpcloud.in and click Start.
  2. Watch the console until it reports that the server has started. The first start takes longer while game files download and the world generates.

Find your address

Your server's IP and port are shown at the top of the panel's console page. Share them with your players exactly as shown.

Configure the server

  1. Stop the server.
  2. Open the file manager. Server settings are stored in the configuration files in the server's main folder.
  3. Edit the settings you need (server name, player limit, world options), save, and Start the server again.

Keeping up with game updates

When Hytale updates, players on the new version can't join an older server.

  1. Take a backup.
  2. Restart the server - it fetches the latest server build on startup.
  3. If it still reports an old version, go to Settings → Reinstall Server, then start it again.

Mods

Upload server-side mods through the file manager or SFTP, into the folder the mod's instructions specify, then restart. Add mods one at a time so you know which one caused a problem if the server stops starting.
