I can't connect to my server

Work through these checks in order - most connection problems are solved by the first three.

1. Is the server actually running?

  1. Open your Dashboard or panel.ngpcloud.in.
  2. The status should be Running, not Starting or Offline.
  3. Check the console finished booting - for Minecraft, wait for a line containing Done.

If it keeps stopping, go to Server crashes or won't start.

2. Are you using the right address?

  • Copy the IP:port exactly as the panel shows it - don't guess the port.
  • Minecraft Java: enter IP:port in one field. Bedrock: IP and port go in separate fields.
  • Using a domain? Test with the raw IP first. If the IP works but the domain doesn't, it's a DNS issue - see Point your domain to your server.

3. Do versions match?

"Outdated client", "Outdated server" or "Incompatible version" means your game and the server run different versions. Update or change one side - see Change your Minecraft version.

4. Is the server full or whitelisted?

  • Check max-players isn't reached.
  • If the whitelist is on, add yourself: run whitelist add YourName in the console.
  • If you were banned by a plugin, check its ban list.

5. Is something on your side blocking it?

  • Try a different network - a mobile hotspot is the quickest test. If it works there, your router, school/office network or ISP is blocking the port.
  • Temporarily disable VPNs and third-party firewalls.
  • Ask a friend to try. If they can connect and you can't, the problem is on your side of the internet.

6. Check our status page

Look at ngpcloud.in/status for any ongoing incident affecting your location.
