How to choose the right plan
Picking the right product and size up front saves you an upgrade later. Use this page to match what you're building to the right service.
Pick the product
| You want to run... | Choose | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A Minecraft, Rust, ARK, CS2, FiveM or Hytale server | Game server hosting | Managed game panel, one-click server types, DDoS protection |
| A Discord bot or small Node.js / Python / Java app | Bot hosting | Cheapest way to keep a process online 24/7 |
| A website or WordPress site | Web hosting | Custom control panel with free SSL |
| Anything needing root access, Docker or custom software | VPS | Full Linux server you control over SSH |
| A managed database for your app | Database hosting | No server administration needed |
Size a Minecraft server
RAM is the setting that matters most. These are starting points, not hard limits:
| Setup | Players | Suggested RAM |
|---|---|---|
| Vanilla or Paper, few plugins | up to ~10 | 2-4 GB |
| Paper/Purpur with 20+ plugins | 10-40 | 6-8 GB |
| Modded (Forge/Fabric) or modpacks | any | 8-12 GB+ |
| Large network or heavy modpack | 40+ | 12 GB+ |
Size a bot
Most Discord bots idle at 100-300 MB of memory. A 512 MB-1 GB plan is enough for a typical bot; music bots, bots with large caches or many shards need more.
Pick a location
Choose the location closest to most of your players or users, not to you. Our locations page shows live latency from your browser to each region.
Billing cycle
Quarterly billing saves 5% and annual billing saves 20% compared with monthly. If you're testing, start monthly - you can switch at renewal.
Can I change later?
Yes. You can upgrade to a bigger plan later and your files stay in place. See How renewals and auto-renew work for how billing changes are applied.
