Schedule automatic restarts and backups
Schedules run tasks for you on a timer - a daily restart to clear memory, a warning message to players, or a nightly backup.
Create a schedule in the panel
-
Open your server on panel.ngpcloud.in and click Schedules.
-
Click Create schedule.
-
Give it a name, like
Daily 4am restart. -
Set when it runs, using cron-style fields:
Field Example Meaning Minute 0at minute 0 Hour 4at 4 AM Day of month *every day Month *every month Day of week *every day of the week -
Tick Only when server is online if the tasks shouldn't run on a stopped server.
-
Click Create schedule.
Add tasks
Open the schedule and click New Task. Tasks run in order, and each can wait a number of seconds after the previous one.
A friendly restart sequence:
- Send command -
say Server restarting in 5 minutes- offset0. - Send command -
say Restarting in 1 minute!- offset240. - Power action - Restart - offset
60.
To take a nightly backup instead, add a single Create backup task.
From the dashboard
Your Dashboard → Schedule tab offers a simpler picker: choose the days and time for a restart without writing cron fields.
Tips
- Restarting once a day is plenty for most game servers.
- Put backups a few minutes before the restart, not during it.
- Backups count towards your backup slots - lock the ones you want to keep.
